ในบทบัญญัติของพระราชบัญญัติหลักประกันสุขภาพแห่งชาติ พ.ศ.2545ได้กำหนดให้องค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่นสนับสนุนดำเนินงานและบริหารจัดการเงินทุนในระดับท้องถิ่นหรือพื้นที่ โดยส่งเสริมกระบวนการมีส่วนร่วมเพื่อสร้างหลักประกันสุขภาพให้แก่ประชาชนในพื้นที่

ไม่ต้องกังวลหากป่วย

ประชาชนคนไทยทุกมีสิทธิในการเลือกโรงพยาบาลหรือสถานพยาบาล ที่ตัวเองสะดวกในการเข้ารับการรักษา สามารถใช้สิทธิเมื่อเจ็บป่วย โดยเงื่อนไขในการใช้บริการในหน่วยบริการนั้นสามารถจำแนกวิธีการใช้บัตรทองออกตามกรณีต่าง ตามลักษณะการเจ็บป่วยของเราได้ดังนี้
